January 8 2009 - Punj Lloyd Group, announced the win of four contracts including Group’s first communications project in Libya and a glorious oil and gas contract from Cairn Energy India. It was an engineering, procurement and edifice firm.
There is pipeline mina stretch of 56.52 km valued at Rs 104.56 crore (US$ 21.55 million) in the new contract from Cairn Energy which would include engineering, procurement and construction. The contracts span of work includes laying a crude oil heated and insulated pipeline and a gas pipeline in sectionII for the Mangla Development Project, in Gujarat.As the crude oil solidifies at standard temperature so it was to be heated incessantly such that it moves through pipeline, so the waxy Rajasthan project was an important one.All the pipelines should be laid, along with the 6 dia gas pipeline which should be laid in the same trench as the 24 dia crude oil pipeline.
This project has challenged to be completed in a scheduled period of seven months. So to run the generators from the 8 line, it will also construct 3 generator heating stations to heat the gas and crude oil.
It was the first infrastructure and efficacy project of Punj Lloyd in Libya in a joint venture with the public works company Tripoll (PWCT). Across borders, project has been awarded by Housing & Infrastructure Board (HIB) of Tripoll.
The contract work scope includes upgrading the infrastructure of Arada, an existing township in Tripoll, Libya. The value of it was Rs 1050.05 crore.
The project was supposed to be completed within four years, as it involves commissioning of infrastructure system including water, manure, storm water main and twig lines, roads and other amenities.
